Rejoice, it looks like we’re finally getting the new Batman Arkham game we’ve been waiting years for.

Despite last year's woeful flop that is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it’s important not to forget what Rocksteady Studios is, a talented team of developers that has brought us the greatest video game series based on comic book characters we’ve ever seen.

Check out the Batman Arkham Trilogy trailer below!

In 2009, we were treated to the absolute classic, Batman: Arkham Asylum which put Rocksteady Studios on the map. Before Batman: Arkham Asylum, this studio had only ever released one game: the relatively unknown Urban Chaos: Riot Response.

Arkham Asylum begins with Batman aka Bruce Wayne (voiced by the late, great Kevin Conroy), taking Joker (Mark Hamill) to Arkham Asylum to be locked away in the secure facility forever, or that’s what he at least hoped for.

Batman: Arkham Asylum would earn a well-deserved score of 92 on the aggregate website Metacritic and thus would spawn more critically acclaimed sequels from Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Sadly, when Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released in early 2024, it was so bad that many feared it could have been the end of the talented development studio.

Thankfully, however, that doesn't seem to be the case, at least according to a recent report. As reported by IGN (via Bloomberg), during a financial call with Warner Bros. Discovery, it seems that a new Batman Arkham game could be on the way.

Warner Bros. Discovery president and CEO, David Zaslav not only teased that a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is in the works, along with new Mortal Kombat and Game of Thrones titles, but “in particular Batman” will be a focus.

Furthermore, Zaslav teased that Rocksteady Studios “is looking to return to Batman for a single-player game.” That being said, as exciting as that news is, it’s believed that this new Batman game is likely to be years away from being released.

Hopefully, if Rocksteady Studios is working on a new Batman Arkham game, it could be the perfect title to put the studio back into the good graces of fans.

We’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further developments on this story.
