The Batman Arkham trilogy is one of the most beloved outings of The Dark Knight in gaming, and each part delivered amazing storytelling and action-packed fights.

Every fan has a favourite from the three games, with many focusing on each one if different ways, but all of them showing how good Batman games can be.

For some fans, the second game stands out because it broke out of the confines of Arkham Asylum and took Batman into Gotham, with a more open-world approach.

However, plenty of players want to see the game live a new life, remastered to the standards of the third entry in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight, with the inclusion of overhauled visuals.

On PC, this is entirely possible, and one player has released a YouTube video of them playing Batman: Arkham City with a plethora of mods enabled, to show the scale of what a new remaster could look like.

Well over 10 years after its release, Batman: Arkham City looks like a brand-new adventure while running several mods to enhance the visuals, using ray tracing and global illumination presets to revitalise the visuals.

A beefy PC would be needed to get the game running in this form, and the footage has many wishing for a new remaster so that everyone can experience this for themselves.

One commenter notes, “This is how the remaster should have looked.”

This is echoed across many comments, with one saying, “I know this is a worn-out sentiment, but I wish the actual remaster was as good as this.”

If you’ve got a modern PC with a powerful graphics card installed, you can get close to this representation of the game, but what we all really want is a return to the Arkham universe with a new entry in the series on modern consoles and PC.
