When it comes to hit RPGs, Baldur’s Gate 3 has cemented itself in the Hall of Fame over recent years and so it is no surprise that game studios will be taking inspiration from the award-winning release.
Offering us a stellar voice cast, fun turn-based combat, a lore-rich open-world, and the ability to romance your way around your camp, Baldur’s Gate 3 was a worthy Game of the Year winner back in 2023.
Now that two years have passed, titles which may or may not have taken their inspiration from Baldur’s Gate 3 are beginning to appear and one such example was announced at The Game Awards 2025.
Solasta 2.

Expected to launch in 2026 as one of the year’s biggest RPGs, Solasta 2 is the sequel to 2020’s Solasta: Crown of the Magister and will take place on the mysterious island continent of Neokos where ancient magic governs all.
Revealed during last night’s show, Solasta 2’s story will follow four adopted Colwall siblings who set out on a journey following the death of their mother who took a well-guarded secret to her grave.

With each sibling being fully customisable, this is an RPG like any other and from the trailer alone, it is clear to see those Baldur’s Gate 3 vibes.
Set to launch on 12 March 2026, Solasta 2’s official synopsis reads as follows:
“In a Mana-infused land, a dark force led by the enigmatic Shadwyn threatens Neokos. Bring your party of adventurers together across perilous realms in this Turn-Based Tactical RPG based on the SRD 5.2 ruleset. You make the choices, dice decide your destiny.”
However, there may be another strikingly obvious reason why it is giving Baldur’s Gate 3 vibes from the trailer alone.
There is no Denying That Talent
Its voice cast.
That is because Solasta 2 will welcome Amelia Tyler and Devora Wilde who also played The Narrator and Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3. They will be joined by Ben Starr (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Final Fantasy XVI), and Ellen Thomas (Arcane).
With such a stacked voice cast, it is hard not to be excited and it seems as though others agree.
“Guys, it's not a BG3 copy.. Solasta 1 came out before BG3. This is the sequel,” one comment read, making a very important point.
“It’s got Lae’zel. I’m buying lol,” another added.
“Doesn't matter, give me "Baldur Gate's LIKE" and I will buy,” user RayBanda shared.
There is no denying that the similarities are striking but we can also appreciate each IP as its own thing.
Nevertheless, Solasta 2 is one 2026 release you will want to add to your wishlist.
