Baldur’s Gate 3 adds a new scene for the fan-favourite Astarion, and you can download it now for free.
When Baldur’s Gate 3 was released as an early access title on PC via Steam in 2020, I doubt even its developers, Larian Studios, could have predicted the sensation it would become, especially following its full launch in 2023.
“The scale and scope of Baldur’s Gate 3 is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Again, I know I’ve become the drunk bloke in the pub hammering on about The Beatles, but I can’t stop myself,” said GAMINGbible alumni, Ewan Mooore.
“I have gleefully joined the ranks of Baldur’s Gate 3’s evangelical, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In a year groaning under the weight of so many exemplary games, it is frankly astounding to me how much taller Baldur’s Gate 3 looms over the rest of the pack. I’m not sure we’ll ever see anything quite like it again.”
Advert
To say that Baldur’s Gate 3, inspired by the legendary tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons, would become a cultural phenomenon would be an understatement. The love that fans have for this game shows no signs of dwindling anytime soon, and many would probably hope that we’ll get Baldur’s Gate 4 one day.

Larian Studios Announced a New Game
That being said, if we do get Baldur’s Gate 4, we know that it won't be developed by Larian Studios.
For creative reasons, the developer wants to work on something new and that something new was announced at The Game Awards recently with Divinity.
At the time of writing, Divinity does not have a release date. Thankfully, at least, not only does Baldur’s Gate 3 have a ton of replayability, but the ever-vibrant modding community continues to breathe new life into what is already a fantastic experience.
One such mod is called ‘Bite Nights’, and this adds a new scene that allows Astarion to feed on your blood while you’re sleeping.
The mod in question is created by RevolutionScribe, and it’s available to download now via Nexusmods.
“Bloodless gang, come and get your mod. This mod adds a new scene that plays when Astarion feeds on the player character at night,” reads its description.
“The mod uses unfinished vanilla animations, meaning there will be some clipping and alignment issues.
"I did my best to minimise them and make the scene work for a variety of body types, but the animations will line up best for body types with the same shoulder width as two tall body-type characters.”
Sadly, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive. For the rest of us, we can still at least enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3 as intended on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
