Today was the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, a type of broadcast where Nintendo talks about both announced and unannounced third-party titles.
Some good stuff was featured including some gorgeous Resident Evil Requiem amiibo, too bad the functionality of them is quite poor.
Something was missing however, a remake for an iconic PlayStation 2 game that’s seemingly coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 if this update is anything to go off.
It’s Persona 4 Revival, a remake of Persona 4 which launched on the PlayStation 2, was ported to the PlayStation 3 and eventually remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The remastered version is still playable today but Persona 4 Revival aims to be the definitive version, remade in the style of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload.
Advert
Recently the game received an updated trademark with a publication date of 24 February, leading many to believe it’d be part of today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case but Persona fans shouldn’t lose hope just yet. While it wasn’t featured amongst today’s round-up there’s still a good chance it’ll join the other games in the series on Nintendo platforms, the question is when.

At the time of writing there’s a lot of debate over the game’s release date, as it’s said to be dropping during SEGA’s fiscal year 2027.
Don’t panic though as SEGA’s fiscal year 2027 starts in April 2026, running through to March 2027.
This puts the game’s release date somewhere between those dates, hopefully leaning more towards 2026.
When we last saw the game it was looking good but very little gameplay was shown so it’s difficult to make out how far into development it currently is.
It all depends on what changes have been made to the game outside of the visuals.
Following the pattern of Persona 5: Royal and Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Revival will likely feature an extended storyline that leads to a new ending.
It’ll probably be optional content but still it’ll require some changes to the pacing to make it work.
Hopefully it doesn’t take too long for the game to come out as we couldn’t be more excited to play it, but even if it launches towards the end of 2026 I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait, and hopefully it’ll come to the Nintendo Switch 2 as well.
