We now have not one, but two Avatar games to look forward to this year - although admittedly they’re from two completely different franchises. If you’re more of a fan of Aang and his friends than the Na’vi on Pandora, then I have great news for you.

As IGN reports, it’s just been announced that a brand new action-adventure game, Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance, is releasing on PC and consoles this autumn. Fans will be able to play the game solo or with a friend in two-player co-op - either on a couch or over the internet.

Take a look at the trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance below.

There are nine iconic characters to play as, obviously including Aang, Toph, Katara and Sokka. According to a press release (via Gematsu), the world is filled with environmental puzzles which players will need to overcome using bending - you’ll be able to upgrade the characters’ abilities throughout the game.

There are 18 chapters to experience, which will go over “Aang’s original adventure”. According to a synopsis found on the Xbox YouTube channel, it sounds like all the main plot points from the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated TV series will be covered. It reads: “Relive the epic adventure of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series as you play as Aang and his friends and master the elements, explore the most unique locations from the series, solve challenging environmental puzzles and experience the most heart touching moments of Aang's story.”

With that in mind, it doesn’t sound like there’ll be any brand new story elements to discover, so if you’re familiar with the show already, you probably shouldn’t go in expecting anything fresh in that regard. Even so, the option to play in co-op mode is enticing.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest for Balance is set to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.
