Assassin's Creed Shadows devs confirm 'multitude' of romance options for Yasuke and Naoe

Assassin's Creed Shadows devs confirm 'multitude' of romance options for Yasuke and Naoe

Ubisoft is bringing romance to Assassin's Creed Shadows

I’m not sure how you find time for romance when you’re fighting in the shadows constantly, but Ubisoft seems to think Yasuke and Naoe will have spare moments to flirt.

It was recently revealed in an Ubisoft blog that romance will be on the cards for our dual protagonists in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Assassin's Creed will finally go to Japan with the next instalment.

That’s right, among all the sneaking around and stabbing people, both Naoe and Yasuke’s “disparate personalities also lead them to have different relationships and rapports with other characters, and they don’t always feel the same way about people, nor do people always feel the same way about them.”

This reveals that interaction between you and the game’s NPCs will carry an intriguing level of depth. However, Ubisoft went on to talk about romance saying, “Romantically, they will also attract and be attracted to different types of people. Through the pair, players will get to experience a multitude of relationships.”

If this let’s us see a more human and personable side to both characters, then I’m all for it. Given the game will take place over several seasons, as shown in the trailer for the game, we could find that these relationships develop into something deep.

Getting under the skin of these troubled heroes will be an interesting angle for the game, allowing us to become more immersed in their lives and see a fresh side to the lives of the assassins.

What this means for the gameplay overall is anyone’s guess, but given we’ve heard about there being a network of spies to employ in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, these relationships could alter and affect how people work with Nasuke and Naoe.

My fingers are crossed that we get the same freedom we had with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and can approach and romance people of any gender to open the game to everyone.
