Ubisoft has dropped a long-awaited free download for Assassin’s Creed Shadows that is available right now.
A few weeks ago, Ubisoft detailed the roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows which outlined a ton of free content that is coming to the game soon.
After being delayed several times, many fans were concerned that Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be worth the wait.

However, despite being a big fan of the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows took me by surprise with its fun gameplay, stunning visuals and its charming two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.
In our review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, we said: “This is an epic, sweeping adventure bolstered by jaw-dropping visuals and a masterful blend of stealth, action, and exploration. You don’t want to miss this one.”
The upcoming free content includes missions, gameplay enhancements, quality of life improvements and more. Yet, the release date for its first major expansion, Claws of Awaji, wasn't announced, but rumours suggest it will arrive late this year.
As of yesterday, the first content update dropped for Assassin’s Creed Shadows with Title Update 1.0.5. The highlight of the update is the improvements made to parkour, making it smoother than ever running and climbing atop the structures of feudal Japan.
Naoe and Yasuke have an improved vertical ability, allowing them to “jump and grab any ledge, awnings or overhangs within reach, reducing the need to rely on vertical wall-runs”.

The side and back ejects for the two characters have also been improved, which includes “new animations for Naoe when performing height-gaining side ejects, extending her capacity to remain high-up during parkour”.
What’s more, new photo mode features have been implemented, as well as a host of bug fixes. We’ll keep you posted when the next content update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows drops.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S.
