Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed again by Ubisoft.

It’s been a troubling time for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was originally supposed to be released in November before it was delayed until 14 February 2025. Now, it’s been cancelled for a third time by Ubisoft.

“Experience an epic action-adventure story set in Feudal Japan! Become a shinobi assassin and legendary samurai as you explore a beautiful open world in a time of chaos,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Switch between these two unlikely allies as you discover their common destiny and usher in a new era for Japan.”

Fans have been concerned with rumours of internal struggles regarding the development of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and considering this is now the third delay, those rumours have further validity. As a fan of the series, I must admit, it is concerning.

The news of the third delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows was announced across the official Ubisoft social media channels.

“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible fans and dedicated teams for your unwavering support since our announcement in September to further refine and polish Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” reads the statement from Ubisoft.

“Since November we’ve been thrilled to share our progress through Gameplay Overviews, and the overwhelming excitement has truly inspired us,” it continues.

“While we’ve already made remarkable strides, we believe a few additional weeks are needed to implement that feedback and ensure an even more ambitious and engaging day-one experience.

The statement later revealed the new release date of 20 March 2025.

Hopefully, this will be the last delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the game can knock it out of the park at launch. Only time will tell.

If anything else changes regarding the title, we’ll be sure to update you straight away. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
