A new launch window for an upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows release has leaked.
It’s fair to say that the pre-launch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows wasn't the smoothest experience for publisher and developer Ubisoft. The game was delayed multiple times, which rightly caused many fans to be concerned about its quality.
While Assassin’s Creed Shadows may not have hit the high sales expectations of Ubisoft, after spending 60-plus hours (and counting) with the title, I can hand on heart say that I love this game, far more than I expected.

As a result of Assassin’s Creed Shadows being delayed multiple times, which saw it pushed back from 2024 into 2025, Ubisoft decided to make its upcoming paid expansion, Claws of Awaji, free to those who pre-ordered the game as an apology.
Ubisoft revealed the content roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows in April 2025, which teased tons of free DLC for fans. However, the Claws of Awaji expansion did not have a release date other than a vague launch late this year.
However, as reported by Insider Gaming, sources claim that Claws of Awaji has an intended launch window of September this year, but it could be pushed back a further month to October.
Claws of Awaji is said to bring 10 hours of new story content as well as new abilities for Naoe and Yasuke, new weapons, gear and more.

“Travel to a new, distinctive region - the island of Awaji - a place of mysterious beauty,” reads the synopsis of the expansion. “Reclaim a lost treasure while avoiding the traps and ambushes of deadly new foes. Feel the tension of being hunted by a new faction, threatening the mysterious island of Awaji.”
Furthermore, sources have informed Insider Gaming that a DLC co-op mode called ‘League’ is in development, intended to launch sometime in 2026.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
