Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft has announced a free update for one of this year’s most underrated games.

Fresh off the exciting first-reveal of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, formerly Assassin’s Creed Red, Ubisoft has made another announcement regarding a free Prince Of Persia update.

Check out the cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows below.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft released Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, a side-scrolling Metroidvania-like game that revitalised a beloved action-adventure series.

GAMINGbible’s Dan Lipscombe called it “exceptional” in his review, praising its acrobatic platforming with some killer boss fights, which are about to get a major expansion.

Recently, Ubisoft announced its second title update for the game, Boss Attack, which will add two new boss challenges.

The first is Boss Revenge where players can replay their favourite battles on whichever difficulty they choose, before moving on to Boss Rush mode, which is exactly what it says on the tin, fighting all eight bosses one after the other.

That’s not all though, the update also adds two new costumes to the game, one of which is the iconic 2008 Prince Of Persia outfit, which can be unlocked by beating the Boss Rush mode.

Ubisoft has confirmed the update will be free for all players on all platforms, and additional updates for the game are in active development.

The free updates are in stark contrast to the recent controversy surrounding Ubisoft, which is currently being flamed for its pricing for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws.

Both games are releasing later this year, and are being featured as part of digital bundles costing upwards of £100/$100 for Season Pass content, “early-access” and in-game time-savers.

But don’t let that stop you from enjoying the free Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown update, which is available right now on all platforms.
