Assassin's Creed Origins: Rebirth makes game damn-near photorealistic

And we thought that Assassin's Creed Origins couldn't get any better!

The Assassin’s Creed series is a crown jewel for publisher Ubisoft and is continually one of its biggest money makers.

One of the most popular games in recent years is one that is considered to be the pinnacle of its RPG-inspired entries, 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins. Taking place during the ancient Egyptian Ptolemaic period, Origins tells the tale of how the war between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the dastardly Templars came to be. At the heart of its story is the charismatic duo of Bayek of Siwa and his wife, Aya.

What’s more, despite releasing around six years ago (at the time of writing), Assassin’s Creed Origins is a fantastic-looking game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and of course PC. However, thanks to a new-gen 60fps update on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not to mention that it now in a glorious 4K resolution, it not only looks better but plays better than ever too.

That being said, thanks to fantastic community mods on PC, just about any game can be taken to the next level, whether it be visuals, gameplay or additional story content. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Origins is no exception. One such mod is ‘Rebirth’ which improves the visuals of Origins so much that it makes the game damn-near photorealistic.

The ‘Rebirth Reshade’ mod is available now via Nexusmods and the talented modder that we have to thank for this amazing creation is ‘yytssIn’. The modder says that ‘Rebirth Reshade’ is a: “simple reshade, that changes the graphic colour to be more natural, as well as adding AO (ambient occlusion), DOF (Distributed Object Framework), and so on, hope you enjoy.”

To be honest, just by taking a look at the screenshots on the dedicated Nexusmods page, there’s nothing all that simple about this mod, as it makes Assassin’s Creed Origins far more beautiful than it already was. Kudos yytssIn, kudos. If you want to download this mod, be sure to read its step-by-step instructions.

In related news, Assassin’s Creed Jade is a new free open-world RPG and fans are calling it an ‘amazing time’, and it seems that microtransaction details have leaked for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage which will be released on 12 October 2023.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
