Assassin's Creed Origins defended as 'one of the best games ever' by fans

They're right and they should say it.

Spanning over a decade, Assassin's Creed has taken players to the Crusades, Renaissance Italy, Istanbul, the Caribbean, London, Greece, Norway and England. What a bargain. But it's a difficult decision to say which one of the 24 titles is the best. Just joking. It's clearly Origins.

Assassin's Creed Origins had a mission to fulfil. Syndicate's sales weren't where Ubisoft wanted them to be and Unity was a shambling, shuffling mess. There was also the overarching feeling that the series was becoming stale while still meeting fans in the middle for the future of Assassin's Creed might be. Impressively enough, Origins managed it.

Following Bayek of Siwa, the tragic loss of his son is one cog in a massive conspiracy ticking over in the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. Abubakar Salim's performance as the central character was celebrated and the combat offered an actual challenge, with battles against a beautiful backdrop of a meticulous recreation of ancient Egypt.

"I believe that AC Origins is [one of the best] AC games," said Reddit user heeheewarrior_27 in a rare example of positivity on the series' subreddit. "It was and still has the best mix of Assassin and Warrior out of the 3 newest games."

The world of Origins was recognised as a valuable representation of this locale at this long lost period of time and academics praise the game for acting as a learning opportunity for those at all ages.

"I’ve been to Egypt so many times but not for a decade or so now - I love this game as it takes me to a country I love without having to spend a crap ton of money," replied PigleythePig.
