Assassin’s Creed fans are losing it over a new Ezio trailer, and we get it, because we’re losing it too.
I think I can safely say on behalf of many fellow Assassin’s Creed fans that we’d love nothing more than to see the return of the smooth-talking, charismatic Italian, that is Ezio Auditore da Firenze, first introduced in 2009’s Assassin’s Creed II.
Granted, I’m not sure if I’d want to see Ezio return in a brand new game with a new story, because his story arc was so wonderfully concluded in 2011’s Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
That being said, if we were to get a full remake of Assassin’s Creed II built from the ground up using Ubisoft’s most recent version of the Anvil engine, I’m all for it, and my fingers will be crossed.

However, it doesn't look like we’ll get any of the Ezio games remade anytime soon (not including 2016’s Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection remasters), but rumours are circulating that an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake is on the cards, so there is that.
So for now, we’ll just have to make do with whatever Ezio goodness we can get our hands on, such as the most recent new event in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
As part of update 1.1.1, which is live now, courtesy of the in-game Animus Hub, by completing new Project quests, you can unlock Ezio-inspired items such as an Assassin’s Creed II outfit and even a cute cat.
To show what some of this content looks like in real-time, Ubisoft has released an epic trailer on its social media channels, and fans are losing their minds.

“When in doubt, bring back Ezio!” suggested DANNYonPC.
It certainly is interesting timing for Ubisoft to drop the new Ezio content now, with the PlayStation 5 exclusive, Ghost of Yōtei’s launch just a few weeks away.
Ghost of Yōtei is the sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, and much like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it has a historic Japanese setting. Albeit, Shadows is set during feudal Japan and Yōtei during the Edo period.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Next week also sees the release of its first expansion, Claws of Awaji, on Tuesday, 16 October.
