Assassin's Creed fans are convinced that Ubisoft has subtly teased a remake of the very first game, and we can totally see where they're coming from.
November 2022 marks 15 years since the launch of the first Assassin's Creed, an iconic game which lay down the groundwork for a generation of AAA blockbusters. Ubisoft has already teased that it has various plans to celebrate the franchise over the coming months, and many fans reckon a remake of the original game is among them.
Earlier this week Ubisoft kicked off the Assassin's Creed 15th anniversary celebrations proper, with a video looking back at all the previous games. Numerous fans were quick to point out, however, that the footage of Assassin's Creed in the trailer looked noticeably different.

"I know a remake when I see one," wrote one user who shared a side-by-side comparison of the 15th anniversary footage with the original game.
Another pointed out a slightly new logo, and the subtle changes to the game's definition and colouring.
Not everyone is convinced. Some believe Ubisoft simply edited footage of the original game to make it look a little better, which is absolutely a possibility. I certainly don't think it looks like a full-on remake, but given Ubisoft's love of revisiting the classics, we'd be surprised if the game that started it all didn't at least get some kind of remaster to mark the 15th anniversary.
