An Assassin’s Creed fan has pitched for a game to be set during the Irish war of independence and civil war.
The Assassin’s Creed series often takes us to various historic moments during humanity's existence. We’ve seen the Revolutionary War in Assassin’s Creed 3, the Industrial Revolution in Syndicate and the Peloponnesian War in Odyssey, to name but a few.

However, one fan on Reddit would like Ubisoft to take us to the Emerald Isle once more, more specifically, The Irish War of Independence, also known as the Anglo-Irish War which had taken place from 1919 to 1921.
“I'd love to see an ac game that covers the Irish war of independence and civil war,” said Reddit user, Imaginary_Ad_2478. “It'd be a great setting to utilise a dense city map with surrounding countryside while only being slightly more modern looking than Syndicate.”
It seems much of the Reddit thread is in agreement with this story being told in the Assassin’s Creed universe. “Considering that there was a level of improvisation when it came to weapons, there would be loads of opportunities to use against the much better armed Free State,” said samjp910.
The user continued: “Perhaps we would come up against the most bloodthirsty elements of the IRA from the other side, the Brotherhood somewhat neutral. Perfect opportunity to introduce new factions too IMO. Like the Sages.”

Whether Ubisoft would ever visit this time period remains to be seen, especially as it’s considered to be a very tenuous and controversial period between Britain and Ireland. For now, we might just have to make do with Shay Cormac of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.
In related Brotherhood of Assassin news, before any new entry in the series is announced, fans are still baffled that the original Assassin’s Creed game of 2007 still hasn't been remade!
