Assassin's Creed: Fragments is a hidden trilogy that's well worth checking out

A final Assassin's Creed Fragments story arrives in 2024

Assassin's Creed fans are going to be eating good over the next few years, with an absolute deluge of new games and projects centred around the behemoth franchise.

Ubisoft recently confirmed it intends to go all-in on Assassin's Creed. There are a ton of new video games in development, including the open-world mobile game Assassin's Creed Jade and long-awaited Japan-centric adventure Assassin's Creed Red. But that's just the tip of the iceberg, with many more projects on the way.

Take a look at Assassin's Creed Mirage below!

If, for some reason, you still find yourself hungry for more Assassin's Creed you greedy little goblin children, then I'm only too happy to direct you towards the Assassin's Creed: Fragments trilogy.

Assassin's Creed: Fragments is a series that may well have passed you by, which is a shame. It's a trilogy of novels written by three different authors and taking place across three separate time periods: 19th century Japan during the Boshin War, 13th century Scotland during the English invasion by King Edward I, and 17th century France during the witch trials.

Released over the course of a year or so, Assassin's Creed: Fragments is the series' attempt to capture the young adult market. All three books have been pretty received, too, so if you're looking for a new book to get stuck into - or if you have a young Assassin's Creed fan in your life that you'd love to see do a little more reading - this trilogy is ideal.

In other Assassin's Creed news, fans who recently got access to the Assassin's Creed Jade open beta are having a great time with the mobile game, although some concerns have been raised about the potential to ruin the experience with overzealous in-game purchases.

Something we have to expect in free-to-play games, you might argue... though that doesn't excuse the recent discovery of microtransactions in Assassin's Creed Mirage. At least if you go for the Fragments book series you won't have to make any in-app purchases. Probably.
