What happens if you blend the worlds of Assassin’s Creed and Elden Ring, powered by Unreal Engine 5? Well, it seems you’ll get something like Code: To Jin Yong.
If there’s one thing that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series gets right, it's the open world whether it be Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey or Valhalla. What’s more, when it was released in 2022, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring instantly became one of the best video games of all time with its stunning location of the Land’s Between and some of the most memorable boss fights in recent memory.
Check out the stunning Code: To Jin Yong trailer below!
Announced in June 2022, and developed by Lightspeed Games, Code: To Jin Yong is an action RPG set in a gorgeous open world inspired by mythical China. It is also inspired by the martial arts novels of author Jin Yong (hence the name). The trailer that we were treated to during its announcement looks absolutely stunning and promises epic boss fights as well as an enticing level of exploration.

“Players will be able to explore and immerse themselves in the iconic martial arts world penned by Jin Yong. With full access to the author’s stories and characters such as Yang Guo, Guo Jing and Linghu Chong, Code: To Jin Yong seeks to bring to life the wuxia dreams for generations of people who grew up on the novels and countless television adaptations,” reads the press release from Lightspeed Games.
In terms of the visuals and world powered by Unreal Engine 5, the developers at Lightspeed Games claim to: “harness the world's most advanced real-time 3D creation tool for photoreal visuals and immersive experiences. That will ensure Code: To Jin Yong’s hyper-realistic renditions of well-loved characters remain true to the original novels and honour wuxia elements, while also adapting for modern-day aesthetics. The game will also feature a compelling storyline based on the fan-favourite wuxia series, woven together with suspense, mystery and exploration.”
At this time, Code: To Jin Yong doesn't have a release date, but it’s safe to assume that it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, hopefully within the next couple of years.
