The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed: IV: Black Flag remake hasn't been officially revealed yet, but you can already claim its free DLC this week, and we’ll tell you how.
In what has been one of the worst-kept secrets in recent months, Ubisoft will finally officially reveal the remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag this week. For many fans, this is the best entry in the Assassin’s Creed series, so it’s likely going to be exciting news for gamers across the world.
Despite accidentally leaking Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced in February 2026, Ubisoft announced this week that the big reveal will air on its official YouTube and Twitch channels on Wednesday.
At this time, we’ve seen no snippets of gameplay for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, other than pieces of artwork and a short tease on socials. But thankfully, all will be revealed tomorrow.

That being said, Ubisoft may not have officially revealed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced yet, but we already know what some of its free DLC will be, and best of all, everyone will be able to claim it. It doesn't even need the typical pre-order of the game.
As brought to our attention by Twitter user Higgs (not the bloke from Death Stranding, I think), the free DLC in question is for an in-game Rufino Pistol, for the protagonist of the game, Edward Kenway, to wield.
Claiming the free Rufino Pistol is very easy. All you have to do is watch the worldwide showcase reveal on Higgs’ Twitch channel (who’ll be co-streaming) for 20 minutes, and the DLC will arrive in your Twitch Drop Inventory. Easy peasy.
You can also watch the worldwide reveal on YouTube, but as far as we’re aware, it won't bag you free DLC.
Some rumours have claimed that the game has been completely reworked and even includes new content. What the rework and new content will look like, only time will tell.
At the moment, there’s not a lot that we know about this remake, at least officially. I just hope that it finds a way to drop those mundane Abstergo Office segments. I found them to be quite immersion-breaking, because I just wanted to live the pirate life, sailing the seven seas.
“The year is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established their own lawless Republic where corruption, greediness and cruelty are commonplace. Among these outlaws is a brash young captain named Edward Kenway,” reads the synopsis of the original game, which I would assume is pretty much the same as the remake.
Ubisoft hasn't officially confirmed the release date for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced yet, but Insider Gaming claims that it will arrive on 9 July 2026. It will most likely be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and hopefully, Nintendo Switch 2.
As soon as the official Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced worldwide reveal airs, we’ll be sure to provide you with all the juicy details.
