It seems that we could be getting a brand new DC superhero game very soon, and based on its senior producer, it’s sounding very promising.
The Batman: Arkham games were, and still are, fantastic. Perhaps it’s because the bar they set was so high that reception to Gotham Knights was so mixed - the game controversially doesn’t feature Batman at all (or at least, not for long anyway), but was also heavily criticised for its low frame rate on consoles.
Check out our thoughts on Gotham Knights in our review here.
Anyway, DC fans can start to cautiously get hyped, as a new game is on the horizon. As Emopulse reports, senior producer at Warner Bros. Games Montréal, Bryan Theberge (who worked as a producer on Batman Arkham Origins and some Arkham Knight DLC, as well as senior producer on Gotham Knights) has updated his LinkedIn page to show that as of this month, he’s been working on an “unannounced project”.

So, what is this project? Fantastic question - we have no idea. Well, we can speculate - obviously, given Theberge’s track record, it’d make a lot of sense if it was another DC superhero game. As Emopulse points out, a number of job listings have been posted online by Warner Bros. Games Montréal recently which might also give a few clues - one for a senior gameplay producer mentions that experience with “Unreal Engine and Multiplayer architecture is a plus”, while another for a senior concept artist for characters says that the employee will “inspire and communicate the visual direction of an upcoming AAA console title”.
At the time of writing, it’s totally unknown if these job listings and Theberge’s new role are linked, but there’s clearly something exciting in the works - we’ll just have to wait and see what it is.
