ARC Raiders Players Face Chaos as Hackers Can Now Hit Online Matches

It’s not good news for genuine Raiders

ARC Raiders faces potential chaos after a genuine player discovers that illegitimate players have accessed the popular online extraction shooter.

In 2025, ARC Raiders from the indie team at Embark Studios was one of the biggest successes of 2025, topping off the year by winning ‘Best Multiplayer Game’ at The Game Awards last December.

When ARC Raiders launched in October 2025, it may have taken a few days or so, but it wasn't long until gamers were spreading the good word about this brand new extraction multiplayer shooter all across social media.

At launch, at least on the PC platform Steam, according to SteamDB, ARC Raiders garnered an impressive 481,966 concurrent players, which to this day is its all-time peak.

In the last 24 hours alone, ARC Raiders has achieved over an impressive 319,000. While we can’t get exact numbers on console, I would assume that those numbers are no less impressive.

So it’s fair to say that to this day, players are having a blast with ARC Raiders. However, some gamers feel that an unfortunate inevitability might end up ruining some of the fun.

Sadly, as is often the case with multiplayer shooters, whether it’s Call of Duty, Battlefield, Apex Legends or Fortnite, it seems that no game is truly safe from cheaters, and we’re not talking about those who may exploit the rules of the game.

Cheaters Have Plagued Online Gaming for Decades!

I can remember encountering cheaters online, and it was with 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War. An otherwise fantastic game with a fun single-player campaign and multiplayer offering. It was also the first game in the series to introduce the ever-popular Zombies.

I remember specifically on the multiplayer map ‘Castle’, I was getting killed with no enemy in sight, and it most certainly wasn't a sniper.

Then I saw the Kill Cam, and I was being shot at by players underneath the map. This happened quite frequently, and it was enough to put me off from its multiplayer modes for good, other than the exception of playing Zombies with friends.

As annoying as that was at the time, it’s nothing like it is today. There are so many sophisticated ways that players are able to cheat and manipulate leaderboards. From what I hear, it’s a very profitable business for those who look to make money from those keen to cheat to win. Unfortunately, no matter how good anti-cheat software might be, those committed enough will often find a way around it.

Cheaters May (or Have) Invaded ARC Raiders!

In regard to ARC Raiders, Embark Studios has its own anti-cheat software, ‘Easy Anti-Cheat’ or ‘EAC’ for short. I’ve not heard too many complaints about the game, so I would assume that it’s doing a decent enough job, so far. Sadly, that may be about to change.

“For Embark's attention - ARC Raiders has been cracked,” announced Redditor SnizelOUT.

“I won't say where or how to, but pirates can now play the game online with people who paid for it through a bypass method... meaning things can go pretty badly if not patched soon (more hackers, more RMT spams),” they concluded.

“The biggest problem here is that this will flood the servers with cheaters on disposable accounts, if this isn't fixed immediately,” warned International-Owl653.

For understandable reasons, SnizelOUT doesn't share any more information. We don't want to give the cheaters a chance to find a workaround. If you spot blatant cheaters in ARC Raiders, you can file reports via the Embark Security website.
