An Arab GTA NoPixel server has been shut down for banning LGBTQ symbols in GTA Online.

Koil is a popular Twitch streamer and loves nothing more than role-playing a variety of characters in the world of GTA. Koil is also the owner and developer of GTA Online servers NoPixel, offering his community a safe place to get in on some fun role-playing antics.

As reported by Dexerto, NoPixel expanded its servers for Arab gamers, but that expansion has come to an abrupt end. A content creator by the name of DanteXstar was streaming on the GTA Arab server when he was asked to remove a rainbow-coloured wristband from his avatar.

During a livestream, DanteXstar was contacted by a member of the Arab NoPixel management team as well as the server admins informing that all LGBTQ symbols and behaviour is banned. DanteXstar reluctantly removed the wristband to avoid receiving a ban.

To avoid NoPixel community members going through the same ordeal, the GTA Arab server has sadly been shut down and the news quickly spread to Reddit. Furthermore, those that were members of the GTA Arab server will receive refunds from NoPixel.

Please excuse my ignorance, but in a game that features murder, drug use, theft, and gambling, it feels a little out of place that a rainbow-coloured bracelet would be banned in a series such as Grand Theft Auto.

Thankfully, it was nice to see that much of the Reddit thread was offering love and support to DanteXstar and the comment below perhaps said it best.

“Please show Dantexstar some love if you have time. The initial Nopixel Arab announcement was put out in response to him wearing a rainbow bracelet and roleplaying an LGBT character,” said canaridra. “The admin was in his chat and DMing him, threatening to ban him if he didn't remove his pride bracelet, remove his Twitch LGBT tag, etc. He's now receiving a brigade of homophobic chatters blaming him for the server being shut down.”

Before we leave, go show DanteXstar some love by following him on Twitter and Twitch.
