PlayStation fans have begun a debate about which console-exclusive series should get its own anime adaptation.

Sony recently confirmed that animated projects are in the works with PlayStation Productions, the same company that helped produce The Last Of Us for HBO Max, and is also assisting in the production of the God Of War and Horizon TV shows as well. Now, a prominent leaker has shared a rumour on Twitter that a PlayStation game is to be converted into an anime show.

The details of what these projects could be are slim, which has led many fans to theorise about which franchises could be getting their very own anime.

A lot of names are currently being thrown around, like Bloodborne, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Ratchet & Clank, all of which are very good suggestions, and I think we're all in agreement that a Bloodborne anime would be awesome.

In all likelihood though, it’ll probably be a franchise that isn’t a stranger to more cartoonish visuals, meaning Gravity Rush, Ratchet & Clank and even Jak and Daxter are likely to be chosen for an animated TV show.

It’s safe to say God Of War and Horizon are definitely not options given how they already have shows in the works through Prime Video and Netflix respectively, which is a shame because a Horizon anime would likely be a site to behold.

Hopefully, we hear more information later down the line, even if it’s just a teaser during this year’s PlayStation Showcase event. So far, Sony has done quite well with TV adaptations, with The Last Of Us already on track for more seasons, bringing in an average of 32 million viewers per episode whilst it was streaming. If the same method of adapting the game’s source material is used for God Of War, Horizon, and future projects, we’ll likely be seeing many more TV shows in the future.

One thing for certain though, all of them will almost definitely be better than Xbox’s attempt with the Halo TV series.
