We Asked These WWE Superstars If They’d Marry Princess Peach Or Mario

Plus: just what does Sasha Banks want to do with Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine?

It’s not every day that someone calls you up and says, hey GAMINGbible, we’ve some wrestlers in a room in Manchester if you wanna pop along and ask them some questions. But that’s sort of what happened when 2K gave us a shout and offered time with genuine WWE superstars Drew McIntyre, Sasha Banks and Sheamus, while they were over in the UK for some live shows in late 2021.

There was a caveat: with the release of 2K’s WWE 2K22 still a few months away, we’d have to sit on whatever content we got with the trio for a while… But sit on it we have, and what’s popped out just in time for spring and the release of said new grapplin’ game is pretty special, we reckon.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: questions about their careers, their greatest matches, their title ambitions, perhaps even some tie-in lines of inquiry around WWE 2K22 itself? Yeah. Nah.

Watch Sasha Banks, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus agonise over which games characters they’d make out with, who they'd marry, and the losers they’d slam to the mat…

What we did instead was ask these bona-fide titans of their chosen sport(s entertainment) to play a game of Snog, Marry, Powerslam with us. Yeah, it’s an idea we cooked up in like three seconds, and they went with it. Sometimes inspiration comes easy. And good on them for being such good eggs with us.

Go on then, watch the video... just up there...

Now, wasn’t that a lot of fun. I spat my tea out - like, properly - the first time I watched it back. Great stuff, if I do say so myself. All three of these wrestlers appear in WWE 2K22 - which is out now for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S consoles, and PC (Windows). But if you like your wrasslin', you already knew that.
