Starfield just got a major fan expansion you can download free now

Space just got even bigger

Bethesda already made Starfield a pretty chunky game filled with planets, weapons, NPCs, and ships but that’s not enough for modders who want more.

The Starfield Fleet Expansion mod is exactly what you need if you looked at the game and wanted more ships, or at least more variation in the ships.

Starfield is getting an official DLC expansion later this year called Shattered Space

The hopes of the mod maker is to give players more ships to discover while flying through space, something that feels like an integral part of the Starfield experience.

The first thing you’ll notice once you’ve downloaded and installed the mod is a much larger variety of ship builds.

The original game gave us around 20 types, including big hulking cruisers, nippy little fighters, assault dropships, and tiny scout crafts.

The mod is pulling from a huge depository of builds found via Reddit, meaning you’ll find some very impressive ships throughout your journey.

These will be purchasable through vendors or can be found flying between planets, potentially hostile to you, or holding a friendly NPC interaction.

The mod is already going down well with NexusMods users as the endorsements and support flood in.

Not only does this open up the galaxy to much more variety, but it’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to dive into the creation side of things, or struggles to come up with a great concept.

Now you’ll be able to buy more interesting ships or steal them when you see fit. Better yet, the mod takes advantage of the glitch crafting that gives you more power or more storage without messing with the physics.

The team behind the mod plans to add more ships over time and is targeting over 100 hull designs to make the Starfield universe feel more lived-in and unique.

If you’re looking to expand your next playthrough, or just want to spice things up, the mod is available right now.
