GTA 5 official map expansion lets us return to a classic location

Get ready for spooky surprises

Halloween is around the corner - yes it is, don’t sass me - and GTA Online is bringing players back to a classic location in the game to celebrate.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that players will be able to return to North Yankton, a classic location previously seen in the GTA V prologue.

You've seen it hundreds of times, but why not watch the GTA 6 trailer once more?

This will be part of a new survival mode being introduced in October for spooky season.

Grand Theft Auto Online is constantly being updated with new features or game modes and there are still millions of players around the world exploring and causing chaos with friends.

The new survival mode will launch in time for Halloween. With plenty of zombies coming at you in waves, it sounds like a good old ‘horde mode’ that’ll get the blood pumping while trying to fend off the undead.

Rockstar Games has expressed that players should expect “all kinds of surprises” during the event and the lead-up to Halloween.

Little more is known about the event that will see plenty of players logging in, but there are sure to be several rewards to claim, even if it’s simply bonus XP or cash.

Of course, this could be one of the last Halloween events in GTA Online, at least in this form, as the developers are busy polishing and finishing GTA VI.

Nothing has been mentioned about how the online component will continue after the launch of the new game, but you can be sure that everything will, at some point, change over to the new engine and style.

Whether this is at launch or several years after, is hard to say. Hopefully, when we get another trailer and over the coming months, more will be shown and discussed.

For now, enjoy GTA Online as it is and take advantage of returning to a classic location.
