Developer CI Games has confirmed that a direct sequel to Lords of the Fallen is on the way, with the previously confirmed release date of 2026 still holding firm at the time of writing.
CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski commented on the announcement, saying, "After selling over 2 million units and welcoming over 5.5 million Lampbearers into Lords of the Fallen, it’s clear our comeback was community-powered. With Lords of the Fallen 2, we’re going further. In 2024 we proudly announced our deep commitment to be a player-first studio. The V2.0 update was our promise in action: listen, respond, and deliver. This sequel is built on that same foundation."
The next Lords of the Fallen game was actually confirmed in 2024, though the Gamescom reveal trailer is the first we have seen of it in earnest and the first time it has been confirmed as a direct continuation.
The original news of its pending arrival came just a few months after CI Games cut 10% of staff in January 2024, before letting another 30 people go in May of the same year.

Equally, PC Gamer confirmed that the creative director, art director and executive producer behind Lords of the Fallen (2023) all left the company earlier this year. That game was developed by Hexworks, a separate studio formed by CI Games that has since also been folded after those figures departed.
Tyminski himself has attracted controversy for social media posts that wade strongly into cultural discussions around diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as political issues more generally.
Little detail is known about the new game, though it will include an optional PvP of sorts, as well as custom game modifiers. The trailer didn't detail anything more specific than 2026 for its arrival, though don't expect to see it in the first few months of next year.
