Black Friday 2021: The Best Nintendo Switch Deals On Consoles And Games

Black Friday 2021: The Best Nintendo Switch Deals On Consoles And Games

You can save a penny - and several pounds - on great Nintendo bundles

This Black Friday, it seems one gaming product above all others is the most-wanted in the UK: the Nintendo Switch. That’s according to Trusted Reviews (and as reported by Nintendo Life) anyway - apparently the Switch tops this year’s search terms alongside “Black Friday”, ahead of laptops, TVs, mobile phones, Xboxes and PlayStations. So, if you’re here because you’re looking to save a few quid on Nintendo’s console, you’re in good company. (And if it’s PlayStation deals you’re after, we have those, too.)

We’ve taken a lil look around this internet of ours to round up some of what we think represent darn good deals on all things Nintendo, for Black Friday 2021.

First up, the console itself. With the Switch OLED available now as the premium model of Nintendo’s hybrid home-and-heldheld system, the older, 2017-launched version has seen a small price reduction as standard. This Black Friday, the official Nintendo store is offering a tasty bundle of a Neon Red/Blue Switch with three months of Switch Online covered and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe included, for the price of £259.99 - that’s over £50 less than if you bought these things individually. GAME is matching the price on the same bundle, if popping to a bricks-and-mortar store is preferred - and if you don't mind using eBay, ShopTo is taking a tenner off the same deal, so you can get it for £249.85.

Stick another £50 on top of that and Nintendo will throw in another game, ranging from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the new Pokémon remakes (our review, here) to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Mario Party Superstars - find these deals here. And no, it’s not a huge saving, but two great games, a new console and three months of Switch Online - which nets you a heap of SNES and NES games, the awesome Tetris 99, as well as multiplayer access - for just a shade over £300 isn’t terrible, at all, when the RRP for the console alone was £279.99 not so many months ago. If it’s just the console you’re after, UK supermarket Morrisons has started selling them for £230 in store only - that offer lasts, subject to stock, until November 28.

If it’s an OLED Model (our review, here) you're after, good luck. While this isn’t exactly PlayStation 5 levels of unavailability, the OLED is a much in-demand piece of hardware, and the version with white Joy-Cons seems far harder to find than the Neon Red/Blue alternative. It is out there though, and right now GAME will do you an OLED plus Paper Mario: The Origami King or Pikmin 3 for £319.99, so don't sleep on that deal. Otherwise that RRP of £309.99 is holding pretty steady.

Meanwhile, if it’s the handheld-only Switch Lite that takes your fancy, its RRP is holding steady in most places we can see, at £199.99. But there are exceptions: Argos is trimming £20 off for the turquoise model, and Amazon will do you a Lite plus Monopoly for £190.98. And there are some other bundles available. GAME will throw in a Mario beanie, just in time for the weather turning; and the use of the code ‘GAMINGFND3‘ at Currys will get you a Lite and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for £224.99, which is a nice saving on Link's Wii-era controller-waggling adventure (cheers, Eurogamer).

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle /
Ubisoft, Nintendo

But say you’ve got a Switch already - what about the games? The online Nintendo store has a heap of good-looking discounts on physical, boxed titles, including Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle half price at £24.99; Sonic Mania Plus down to £22.49; the astounding Hollow Knight is reduced to £20.99; and Untitled Goose Game is a honkin’ tenner off at £24.49. You can browse all the physical games in Nintendo’s Black Friday sale here, and the discounts go as deep as 50%.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe /

If digital is more your thing, you can pinch a significant percentage off a number of RRPs right now, on some real big-name games. The hack ‘n’ slash Zelda series spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is down to £33.29, as is the delightful (but also kinda freaky) puzzler Pikmin 3 Deluxe, Bravely Default II and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. All terrific investments at that asking price. Elsewhere, Dark Souls Remastered is half price, down to a tempting £17.49; and No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again will set you back just £12.49, which is a good price on a perplexingly unique experience. You can browse more Black Friday Nintendo deals here, including up to 40% off Switch accessories, 25% off Pokémon products, and 20% off Nintendo-themed LEGO sets (like this one!) - and if you spend £75 on software, you get a free 64GB memory card. Nice.

Animal Crossing admirers may be interested in this themed controller, now £12.99 at GAME. Sticking with the UK games retailer (its name isn't there to trick you), there's a Super Mario gaming chair reduced from £199.99 to £155.99, but I know my wife wouldn't let it in our house; and the entertainingly Zelda-like Immortals Fenyx Rising is down to £17.99, if Greek gods and monsters is up your mythological street. And for those who choose violence, the Hotline Miami Collection is a tenner off at £19.99.

Obviously this isn’t an exhaustive list of the Nintendo deals that are out there - but hopefully something here catches your eye and sends you on your way. And if we see any other deals that are too good not to share, you’ll find them on our pages. For everything Nintendo on GAMINGbible, here you go.
