A Zelda fan has gloriously remade the beloved Nintendo classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, in Unreal Engine 5.

User CryZENx has been working on the remake for quite some time, originally starting the project in Unreal Engine 4. They then ported it over to Unreal Engine 5, which we covered in a recent article. Not only did it completely rework the visuals, making the land and dungeons of Hyrule look incredibly crisp and high-definition, it even added a multiplayer mode, which we were blown away by.

Now, CryZENx has revealed an updated look at the remake, and we’ve got to say, it’s as stunning as ever.

As you can see in the video, several in-game models have been updated and improved, including key characters like Saria, Malon and Talon, as well as the colossal Deku Tree, who looks absolutely magnificent.

The lighting and ambiance is also spot on, with Link’s home, the Lost Woods, retaining its magic and wonder, with the surrounding trees, grass and streams looking fresh and vibrant. Everything looks and feels alive, which is probably why it’s so hard to believe it’s been built on the foundation of a game over two decades old.

CryZENx has confirmed that once the work is complete and the project is finished, they will be releasing the build to the public so fans of the series can try it out for themselves, so if you’re dying to experience Ocarina of Time like never before, you’re in luck.

We can’t wait to see what the finished fan project will look like, though it’s hard to imagine how CryZENx can make the game look any more breath-taking.

Speaking of breath-taking, Zelda fans are also waiting for the highly-anticipated sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The follow-up is set to launch this Friday on Nintendo Switch, and promises players an expanded Hyrule to explore, unique gameplay mechanics, and an incredibly attractive Ganondorf for some reason…
