There are very few movies that Robert Downey Jr. wouldn’t fit into in one way or another, and Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel has his heart set on the guy joining his franchise for the next movie.

In an interview with Variety, Diesel (AKA the iconic Dom Toretto) was asked about his dream casting for the 11th and final Fast & Furious film, and he instantly replied: “Robert Downey Jr.”. What’s more, he already has the perfect idea for what role he’d want the Iron Man star to play.

Refresh yourself on the events of Fast & Furious 9 with the trailer below.

“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom,” Diesel said, explaining his idea. “There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”

He was then asked if he’s pitched this to Downey Jr. himself yet, and he jokingly growled: “How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity.”

Meanwhile, Michelle Rodriguez (AKA Letty Ortiz) had some very different ideas: “Who’s the guy from these amazing Jason Bourne movies? Matt Damon!” she exclaimed. “I f***ing want Matt Damon. Matt Damon, would you be in a Fast & Furious movie? C’mon, we got four Oscar winners, man. And you’re an Oscar winner!”

Given that it’s such an iconic franchise, there’s no doubt that everyone involved will want to make sure that Fast & Furious 11 goes out with a bang. With that in mind, maybe they really will extend an invite to the Marvel star. We'll just have to wait and see.
