Upcoming 'Lies Of P' Gets Moody And Atmospheric Gameplay Trailer

The Bloodborne-inspired Lies Of P has won the hearts of fans at Gamescom's Opening Night Live.

There are so many new announcements to catch up on thanks to Opening Night Live. In case you missed it, Gamescom has officially kicked off in style. We got a brand new look at Hogwarts Legacy - which is looking far creepier than I anticipated - plus Sony announced the DualSense Edge controller. Amidst all of the high-profile reveals though, a new IP has become the standout star of the entire event. I’m talking about Lies Of P.

Check out the incredible new trailer for Lies of P below.

Lies Of P is a new take on the classic tale of Pinocchio. From developer Round8 and publisher Neowiz, Lies Of P is a steampunk-inspired soulslike - very much in the same vein as Bloodborne. Set in the city of Krat, players will inhabit the role of the titular puppet who attempts to track down his maker Geppetto in an abandoned city full of evil fellow puppets.

The idea is that the mechanised puppets were created for their labour before they turned on their human overlords. The game is set to have 30 different weapons and 100 ‘combinations’ which could be something to do with the fact that Pinocchio’s arm can be adapted and customised during combat and traversal.

We all know that Pinnochio’s nose grows when he lies. That won’t be happening in Lies Of P but lying will instead accumulate Humanity Points which affect the narrative. The game is due to launch in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will gain access to the title on day one.
