The new Geralt of Rivia, Liam Hemsworth, in Netflix’s The Witcher series, has seemingly made a mistake, and fans are not happy.
The release of season four of The Witcher on Netflix is nearly upon us, and those who are still excited for this season will see Liam Hemsworth replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.
In my opinion, season one of The Witcher was fun, but as we moved into the second and third seasons, I felt that its overall quality of storytelling and character building depleted, and it seems I’m not alone in feeling that.
Don't get me wrong, I’ve not read all the books, but as a casual fan, I somewhat enjoyed what it was, to an extent. However, those who love to deep dive into the lore of the novels, created by author Andrzej Sapkowski, feel that as the Netflix series progressed, it became less of a faithful adaptation.

There were reports that Henry Cavill, said to be a big fan of The Witcher novels and the CD Projekt RED video games, had disagreements with the showrunners of the Netflix series, which were rumoured to lead to his departure, and thus being replaced by Liam Hemsworth.
Though to be fair, Liam Hemsworth is said to have been considered for the role of Geralt of Rivia, but was pipped to the post by Henry Cavill. In an alternate universe, Liam Hemsworth could have originally landed the role, and Henry Cavill could have been his replacement.
Recently, the first trailer dropped for The Witcher season four, giving us our best look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia yet, and it’s fair to say that many fans weren't all that impressed.
Look, for better or worse, it’s in my nature to give someone the benefit of the doubt, and I’ll do that with Liam Hemsworth. However, that’s not to say that I’m not as excited for season four as I once was with season two.

In a clip circulating on social media, and shared by TikTok user JbroAlsoDraws, Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia is seen and heard shouting the words “Let’s f****** go!”

I know, both Geralt of Rivia in the novels and the one portrayed by Henry Cavill drop their fair share of F-bombs, but the way it’s delivered in this clip almost feels like it should be delivered by Liam’s brother, Chris, as Thor in the MCU.
“Geralt would never say this,” said ArsenSturluson in the comments section of the TikTok clip.
“That is NOT Geralt!” claimed Weisass.
“Cancel the whole thing, Netflix,” demanded Sus.

“Eeeesh, let’s just pretend it ended when Henry left,” suggested Fire.
Season four of The Witcher will premiere on Netflix on 30 October 2025.
