If you thought Stranger Things’ fourth season was long, then you may not be quite prepared for what I’m about to tell you.

The so-called Stranger Things 5 is finally almost here, and it’s looking as if it’s going to be the longest instalment yet.

The final season will air in three different instalments later this year.

The first four episodes will debut on 26 November, titled ‘Chapter One: The Crawl’, ‘Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap’, and ‘Chapter Four: Sorcerer’.

As you might have guessed, the title of the second episode remains a mystery so I’m assuming it’s a big old spoiler.

Then the second batch will arrive on Christmas Day, which is 25 December if there’s any doubt there.

Those episodes are titled ‘Chapter Five: Shock Jock’, ‘Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz’, and ‘Chapter Seven: The Bridge’.

Finally, the conclusive episode, ‘Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up’, will premiere on New Year’s Eve, 31 December.

These air dates are based on US timings so it’s worth checking your local Netflix’s social media accounts.

For example, here in the UK, these air dates work out as 27 November, 26 December, and 1 January as episodes are released at 5pm PT which’ll be 12am GMT.

As for those runtimes, well, we don’t yet have an exact episode by episode breakdown, but we do now know that every episode lasts for between 90 and 120 minutes.

That means the total runtime could be anywhere in the region of 12 to 16 hours.

It’s no wonder then that the series boasts a staggering budget; in fact, had it been released as a film, it would have been one of the most expensive ever made.

According to Puck, Stranger Things 5 has a budget of $50 to $60 million per episode, meaning the total budget for the series is in the region of $400 to $520 million.

We can’t truly say what the most expensive film ever made actually is as so much of Hollywood accounting is kept secret.

Jurassic World Dominion is believed to be up there though, with a budget of $465. Shame it was so average.

Hopefully, Stranger Things 5 will deliver.

The previous season certainly did but I have seen the sentiment surrounding the show sour as of late, mainly due to just how long we’ve had to wait for this final season.

As a reminder, season four landed in 2022 so it’s been a colossal three-year wait.

Well, the final countdown is on and Stranger Things 5 is going out with a bang.
