Star Wars fans realise only one Jedi has ever actually killed a Sith

Do you know who it is? Quickly, make your guess

Even those of us who claim to have an extensive knowledge of Star Wars can always learn something new.

The Star Wars universe is ever-expanding and so too must our library of knowledge in order to keep up.

Whether it’s a newly revealed piece of lore, or an old tidbit of information you may have missed, there’s always something interesting to observe in the galaxy far, far away.

That’s the case today as one Star Wars fan has brought to light a fun fact that I know I personally have never considered before.

It concerns Anakin Skywalker.

ICYMI: Check out our preview of Star Wars Outlaws ahead of the game’s full launch later this month.

“Anakin Skywalker is the only person in the span of the Star Wars movie franchise to kill a proper Sith,” wrote Reddit user Freaky_Zekey.

It seems somewhat obvious now that it’s been pointed out but it’s not something I’d considered.

Darth Maul appears to be killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Phantom Menace but as we all know, he survives.

Darth Sidious, Palpatine, is killed by Darth Vader aka Anakin.

That simply leaves Darth Vader, Anakin himself, who’s mortally wounded by Darth Sidious who is not a Jedi.

I should stress that, as the Reddit user points out, this applies to the Star Wars movies only.

Darth Maul is finally killed by Obi-Wan for a second time in The Clone Wars TV series.

As for what’s next for Star Wars following the conclusion of The Acolyte, Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on 30 August.

In our preview, we said, “Star Wars Outlaws has completely blown me away. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of detail Ubisoft has seemingly put into the game, and even more so at how seamless everything seemed to fit into the existing Star Wars canon. I only saw two planets during the preview as well as a few bonus areas, and even after several hours it felt like there was so much more to see and do.”

Later this year will also mark the premiere of TV series Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, on 3 December.
