Fans of the original Star Wars trilogy are in for a treat as Leia and Luke return to us as part of a new series.

New developments in the Star Wars franchise come and go, however, it’s the foundations of this cinematic legacy that prove the most endearing to fans.

Although we’re excited about a new prequel film that sounds like exactly what we need right about now, we need to cast our minds back to the original cast for a moment.

Enjoy the pure cinema that is the A New Hope trailer

Hasbro has three figurines scheduled for release on 18 September; these include Jedi: Survivor’s Dagan Gera, and Leia and Luke from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

We know that this “new series” likely isn’t the one you’d been hoping for – the majority of fans long for more TV series and films that capture the wonderment of the originals.

Still, while this isn’t a new tale unfolding on our screens, these figurines are worthy of a spot on your collectibles shelf.

Best of all, their retail price is just $24.99, which feels like a bargain for such beautifully detailed figures of these fan-favourite characters.

Check out the full collection of Star Wars figures at Entertainment Earth.

If you prefer to experience a more tangible link to both the past and present of the Star Wars series, a new major update for Jedi: Survivor is finally here.

While it may not be your favourite game based on the sci-fi franchise, it has its moments that make it a solid if not incredible experience.

Whether you wish to take on the role of a Jedi through the art of video games, or pay homage to this classic sci-fi through its merchandise, there’s no end of ways to keep the embers of Star Wars burning.

For those interested in the aforementioned figurines, they should be available to order from 18 September.
