Fans remember Star Wars: The Phantom Menace for that iconic finale when Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon Jinn, but another Jedi perished during the events of the film that everyone seems to forget.

While it has a few too many Gungan subplots and too much talk about trade routes Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is a decent Star Wars film, and I’ll never forget watching it as a kid and sitting in awe at Darth Maul’s double-ended lightsaber.

Now Qui-Gon Jinn’s death was very sad and arguably the most important death in the franchise but another Jedi fell victim to the Dark Side at the same time.

Fans who know the extended lore or watched Tales of the Jedi will know that back on Coruscant, Count Dooku was falling to the Dark Side, with Qui-Gon’s death being the final nail in the coffin.

Jedi Master Yaddle attempted to stop him, but was killed by Dooku who felt like there was no other choice.

That means two Jedi Masters fell during the events of the film, three if you count Dooku rejecting the Jedi Order.

While Qui-Gon is brought up in other stories, no one seems to care about Yaddle’s mysterious disappearance… and some fans “would not be upset at a book focusing on a Jedi Knight/Investigator looking into the disappearance of a former Council member”.

Others have speculated on whether someone like “Yoda or someone else on the Council felt her die” as we saw in Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith that Yoda could feel what was happening during Order 66. That said, that could just be because so many Jedi were dying at the same time, so an event of that magnitude would definitely set off alarms in force users.

Still, poor Yaddle, taken too soon and seemingly no one around to care about where she disappeared to.
