Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith marked the end of Mace Windu, or did it?
Iâm not going to apologise for referencing a spoiler there; Revenge of the Sith was first released 20 years ago.
Those who have watched the film will have witnessed Winduâs apparent downfall.
The Jedi appeared to have gained the upper-hand in a fight against the evil Emperor Palpatine, but just as Windu prepared to deliver the final devastating blow, Anakin intervened, betraying Windu.

Of course, it was no real shock to the viewer that Anakin might carry out such an action, but it certainly was to Windu himself.
Anakin severed Winduâs arm, providing Palpatine with a window to blast the Jedi with force lightning, sending poor Windu tumbling to his death on Coruscant.
The problem is that these days, most people arenât all that happy about accepting a character death unless a body is shown.
ICYMI: Andor returns for its second and final season next month.
âEvery character who appears to die, or is terribly injured, AND THEN falls from a great height survives,â wrote Reddit user SethSpld2.
âLuke (ESB), Emperor (RotJ), Darth Maul (TPM), and Obi-Wan (RotS). Everyone who appears to die on stable ground - Obi Wan (ANH), Yoda (RotJ), Qui Gon (TPM) and so on - really is dead.â
Itâs an interesting point to consider.
âHe's dead until a writer decides they wanna bring him back, same thing happened with Boba,â replied lordvolkan.
âI hope not. Some characters should stay dead,â commented Creative-Cupcake-656.
âNo because the thing is the fall didn't kill Mace Windu, Sidious' lightning did,â added mrstripperboots.
To survive the force lightning, the severed hand, and the fall would make Mace Windu a cat with nine lives and for that reason, Iâm pretty sure heâs dead.
But look, if he surfaces in future years alive and well, Iâm happy for you to stroll back and scream âI told you soâ at me.
