Star Wars fans are horrified to see what Darth Plagueis could have looked like in the now-cancelled The Acolyte series.
Darth Plagueis is one of the most elusive villains in the Star Wars universe, and before The Acolyte, he was only ever mentioned in passing by Darth Sidious in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, as well as in Legends stories.
I admit, I wasn't much of a fan of The Acolyte, despite being a lifelong Star Wars fan, but when things were about to get interesting, in the final episode with the tease of Darth Plagueis, season two suddenly piqued my interest.
Sadly, the folks at Disney and Lucasfilm suddenly cancelled The Acolyte, leaving many fans wondering what could have been in its second season.

No doubt, Darth Plagueis would have played a huge role and being his very live-action introduction, it would have been something Star Wars fans have called for over the years.
Now, fans have had a glimpse of what Darth Plagueis could have looked like in season two after concept art for The Acolyte was shared on Reddit.
Wrinkled pinky finger aside, Darth Plagueis looks like he would have had the menacing presence befitting of his reputation and could have provided some eerie moments as a live-action character. Naturally, fans are disappointed.

“These look awesome, but I’m glad they made him look a little more messed up and spooky in the show. His final design is amazing,” said Captain-Wilco.
“I hope they keep releasing cool concept art for him,” replied Ibbenese.
“Beautiful, Plagueis looks amazing,” declared GK_i_n_gxXx.
“Iv never been more sad the show was cancelled,” exclaimed Itz_Hen.

“Another reminder how this show should have been about Qimir, Plagueis and Sol,” suggested Ratcatchercazo2.
I’d be surprised if season two of The Acolyte was revived, and if that remains so, I hope we’ll see more of live-action Darth Plagueis, because many of us would still love to see it.
Season one of The Acolyte is available to stream on Disney Plus.
