Star Wars Ahsoka reveal all but confirms Starkiller's live-action debut

It's about time.

We’re finally in August, and you know what that means. In just a few more weeks, the limited Star Wars series Ahsoka will finally premiere on Disney+. Excited? You should be.

The eight-episode series will follow, believe it or not, Ahsoka Tano “as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy”. Alongside Rosario Dawson as the titular Jedi, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll.

Take a look at the trailer for Ahsoka below.

Anyway, in case you were unaware, fans have been speculating for a while now that Ahsoka might feature Galen Marek - AKA Starkiller - from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as an enemy Inquisitor. It’s been a popular fan theory since an image of a masked, unnamed Inquisitor from the show was revealed back in June.

As Dexerto reports, this Inquisitor has now been named as Marrok, who has been described on the official Star Wars website in a very intriguing way. The character profile reads: “Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armour, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.”

Sound familiar? Fans are convinced that the similarity between the names ‘Marrok’ and ‘Marek’ are more than a coincidence: “So this mysterious Inquisitor’s name is ‘Marrok’? I’m just gonna say for the record; this is doing nothing to halt the Starkiller allegations lol,” Twitter user @MaceAhWindu wrote.

“Might as well just come out and say ‘Gaelën Marrok, Killer of Stars; Vader's preferred Inquisitor,’” @THEDevinWolfe1 joked. “Ah yes, Jaylen Marrok,” commented @mad_buckeye.

Of course, this speculation could end up being totally baseless, but you can’t deny that the names are spookily similar. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when Ahsoka premieres on 23 August.
