Pokémon fans are hyped over a surprise new release that’s available to watch for free, right now while we wait for new episodes of Horizons.

In terms of being an entertainment enterprise, it doesn't get much bigger than Pokémon. Whether it’s the latest game on the Nintendo Switch, a retro classic, endless merch, card battling or the ever-popular animations, fans can never get enough of catching them all.

Check out the Pokémon Horizons: The Series trailer below!

The most recent video games in the series are Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which were both released in 2022 on the Nintendo Switch. However, fans are now eagerly waiting for the arrival of Pokémon Legends: Z-A in 2025 with some hoping that it might also be released on the Switch 2.

In our review of Pokémon Scarlet, we said: “Scarlet and Violet have finally delivered on the promise of an open-world entry, but with all the technical issues and stripped-back features, it’s hard to not feel like the Nintendo Switch held these games back.”

Elsewhere, fans are also enjoying the new mobile game, Pokémon TCG Pocket while they wait for new episodes of the animated series, Pokémon Horizons. Until then, you can check out the charming PokéToon episodes for free on the Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel.

The episodes are in Japanese but if you click on the settings cog in the bottom right corner of the video, you can translate the subtitles to English or what other language is relevant to you.

In the most recent episode of PokéToon, we see two cute Charcadets being the best of pals before they evolve into Ceruledge and Ceruledge for an epic battle and then become best friends again.

The episode in question was only uploaded a day ago and already, it’s surpassed 630,200 views at the time of writing.

Season two of Pokémon Horizons: The Series is set to arrive on Netflix on 7 February 2025.
