Despite Thor: Love and Thunder greatly disappointing fans, especially after the success of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarök, it seems as though the God of Thunder’s story is far from over if a recent rumour is to be believed.
Released in 2022, Thor: Love and Thunder was the fourth instalment in the Marvel series which followed the escapades of our favourite God of Thunder played by Chris Hemsworth.

However, with the movie only reaching 63% over on Rotten Tomatoes, it is safe to say that the latest instalment was lacking, leading many to believe that Thor’s movie series was done.

That being said, it has been revealed that Hemsworth will be reprising his role as Thor in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and not only that but Thor 5 could also be in the works, albeit with a different director at the helm.
According to insider MyTimeToShineH, we will not be saying goodbye to the Asgardian during the events of Doomsday and Secret Wars.
"A source reached out, turns out Secret Wars won’t be the end of his story," their Twitter post read.
"Thor 5 is in the works, no Taika this time, and Hemsworth’s pushing for Sam Hargrave (the Extraction guy) to take over."

Taika, of course, refers to Taika Waititi who directed both Thor: Ragnarök and Thor: Love and Thunder but it seems as though the reins are being handed over to Hargrave who is best known for directing the Netflix Extraction series.
Not only that but Hargrave also has experience with the MCU after serving as a stunt coordinator in previous Marvel titles.
Thor 5 has not yet been confirmed by Marvel but it would make sense that Hemsworth is not done playing the role, especially after his comments during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
"Hey, mate, I have loved every second working in the Marvel Universe and if there's more to come then I'm excited about it. Nothing official yet," he shared.

"I'm sort of waiting for the phone call and, and waiting for the news to see, let's see what happens. But, you know, I love it."
