It looks like we may have just got our first teaser of Venom in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Set for release next July, filming for the next Spider-Man film is currently underway. Brand New Day, which is supposedly a “street-level film”, will feature Tom Holland returning to the titular role with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returning as MJ and Ned Leeds.
The film’s main villain is expected to be Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion, a character who appeared in a minor role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Following a new series of posts from Mando’s Instagram page, it seems we might have had a teaser for Venom appearing in the film too (via Comic Book Resource).

Over on Instagram, Mando posted some images relating to Scorpion, including a comic-accurate costume and what appears to be a Venom tease.

As comic book fans will know, Scorpion also becomes a host of the Venom symbiote at one point, giving him additional powers and abilities far beyond his original powers.
In the films, Venom crossed over to the main MCU timeline in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While Venom and Eddie Brock were sent back to their main universe at the end of the film, a small piece of the symbiote was left behind, teasing a future re-appearance of Venom.
I can’t imagine we’ll see much of Venom in Brand New Day beyond a small tease, but it definitely feels like Mando’s Scorpion will eventually bond with the symbiote in a future film.
Also joining Spider-Man: Brand New Day are Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, reprising their roles from various Marvel projects. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are also joining the cast in undisclosed roles.
