Spider-Man: Brand New Day Toy Confirms Big MCU Spoiler

Now THIS is a juicy leak

A rather interesting Spider-Man: Brand New Day toy leak has been accidentally corroborated by several official sources, but said leak also contains a rather juicy piece of info that even the official press releases left out.

Alright, bit of background info on this one first, because you’ll need to understand what the leak got right, prior to any official reveals, before we can explain why the omitted information is such a big deal.

So, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next live-action Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is already shooting as we speak.

On August 1st, several outlets (such as The Hollywood Reporter) reported on a couple of casting announcements for the film. These included both Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and Michael Mando as The Scorpion.

At this point, it hadn’t been confirmed that Ruffalo would be in the film (although it had been rumoured).

Now, it's important to note that August 1st was the official announcement of said info. That's because, as detailed in a report by The Direct's Annie McDonough, another source leaked this info on the same day.

YouTuber Displaying Model Behaviour revealed in a video on August 1st that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be getting an official Hasbro action figure, to coincide with Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s release.

The reason why this information is juicy is because they specifically state in their video that the model will feature the “Savage” variant of The Hulk.

Currently, the version of The Hulk we have in the MCU is “Smart” Hulk, who last appeared in both She-Hulk and Avengers: Endgame. There’s a lot of different variants of The Hulk in the mainline Marvel continuity, but the most famous ones are probably Smart Hulk, Merged Hulk, Gray Hulk and Savage Hulk.

Savage Hulk has the most in common with The Hulk that we saw in his original MCU appearances, which implies that Bruce Banner is, for some reason, going to regress into his uncontrollable side in the next Spidey film.

So, what exactly could have caused this? Why is The Hulk suddenly rampaging through New York in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? For now, we have no idea, but I’d wager that the symbiote is somehow involved.
