Fans are certain that Scarlet Witch is set to return in the MCU very, very soon, even though Elizabeth Olsen herself has stated otherwise.

Considering 90% of Hollywood is set to star in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were immediately suspicious when Elizabeth Olsen’s name didn’t pop during the cast announcement.

Of course, she’s dead, right? So why would she pop up in the next entry of Disney’s mega-franchise?

Well, fans over on the r/MCUTheories subreddit seem to think otherwise.

“No she’s not dead. First she’s way too powerful to kill off by a couple of rocks”, commented user LavenderWaffles69.

“Secondly she’s one of the MCU‘s most popular characters and lastly they just reintroduced her son and will bring back vision and tommy as well. Wouldn’t be very satisfying to see her go out like that.”

“She is definitely alive”, replied user adamAlexanderGreen.

“Marvel trying to hard to convince us, as if that red teleportation during the castle crumbling wasn’t a thing. She definitely was transported outside of time space like the TVA.”

On one hand, it would be seriously dumb as hell if Scarlet Witch actually went out by getting crushed by some rocks.

She’s inarguably one of the strongest characters in the entirety of the MCU, so he death during Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness was definitely a fake out.

On the other hand, Olsen did straight up confirm in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she won’t be returning for either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.

And considering Feige has stated that Avengers: Secret Wars is set to result in a bunch of MCU recasts, it would seem that Olsen has missed her shot at returning.

Unless… oh wait. She could be lying. Yeah, for a second I almost forgot that actors in the MCU do that all the time.
