Marvel fans are in agreement as to who should be the director of the X-Men reboot for the MCU.
For the most part, the X-Men Marvel movies under 20th Century Fox from 2000 to 2019 were fun. Well, perhaps other than its final movie, Dark Phoenix. The less said about that, the better.
Thankfully, at least, despite the dwindling quality of the live-action movies under 20th Century Fox, the love for Professor Charles Xavier’s mutant students has never diminished.

Furthermore, now that Disney owns the X-Men movie rights, fans are hopeful that the MCU will get the franchise back on track and if recent reports are true, that feeling of hope looks like it’s becoming a reality.
As reported by Deadline, Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is reportedly being heavily considered to take charge of the MCU’s X-Men reboot, and with a Popcornmeter score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, fans are all for it.

“Considering how well he handled a group of scrappy 'afterthoughts' that very few believed in, I'm very curious to see how he'd handle a property with this much expectation on it,” said Redditor The_Incognegro.

“Hopefully, Disney doesn't micromanage it to hell and let's him cook because he's a big part of the reason why Thunderbolts* was so damn good,” they continued.
“I'd be happy with this. But they need to stick him with the same writers as Thunderbolts*,” explained masterdebator88.
“Writers don't get much respect. Taika Waititi is my favourite example of this. He directed a great Thor [Ragnarok] movie, then for Thor: Love & Thunder, decided to write it himself and it sucked. The guy who wrote Thor Ragnarok, Eric Pearson, went on to write Thunderbolts*.”
We’ll just have to wait and see whether Disney and Marvel Studios hire the services of Jake Schreier to take charge of the X-Men reboot. As always, we’ll keep you updated when we learn more.
