MCU X-Men Cast Already Decided, It’s So Obvious

Is the casting already in the bag?

Once the dust settles from Doctor Doom’s havoc in the MCU, all eyes will be on the mutant presence beginning to emerge across the world, ushering in many phases for Marvel centred on the X-Men.

With that in mind, many Marvel fans have been wondering if the casting for future X-Men projects is already underway, or if indeed, it has already been decided.

One fan put forth an idea on Reddit, that two actors should be certain for the roles of Professor Xavier and Magneto.

In their thread, they suggest that Marvel could keep both James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as the two to lead the next class of X-Men forward, which would keep some continuity between the old guard and the MCU legacy.

Perhaps some of the X-Men appearing across Avengers: DOOMSDAY and Avengers: Secret Wars will survive, and be established on Earth-616.

It’s not a bad idea, and other fans agree, with one noting, “they are nearing an age where they could depict the “present” versions of the characters.”

“I'd be very excited, I really hope that they'll go in this direction. I'd say they are some of the best recasting they have done,” said another fan.

This is, however, the perfect time for Disney and Marvel to say goodbye to the actors once known for these roles and set up their own original cast, without any baggage.

Especially if they want to revisit stories already told, but this doesn’t stop fans wanting to see these great actors in the MCU, with one exclaiming, “this is 100% what Marvel SHOULD do.”

There is some split between fans, as there are loud voices hoping for a completely new cast, like this Redditor who says, “Just reset the whole X-Men, I don’t want to see the same old faces again.”

Fingers crossed some casting news emerges around the time of Avengers: Secret Wars, as some of the heroes may even appear in that film.
