MCU fans rejoice, an OG Avenger is returning for new series

MCU fans rejoice, an OG Avenger is returning for new series

It's about time

The MCU is going from strength to strength and shows no signs of slowing down with the arrival of a brand-new series centered around an OG Avenger.

With two animated series, two live-action Disney+ shows and a feature film released just this year, Marvel is all hands on deck when it comes to bringing our favourite superheroes to life.

Check out the official trailer for Hawkeye below!

Not only that but with the Multiverse now in full-swing, Marvel has plenty more projects planned across the next few years, ranging from our-brand new Avengers line-up with Avengers: Doomsday and even the return of The Fantastic Four.

However, it is also not forgetting about some of its older shows and none more so than Hawkeye.

The Hawkeye mini-series aired back in 2021 and starred Jeremy Renner as the titular role as he was joined by Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

With the first season performing quite well, fans expected news of a renewal but no word came until September this year when reports revealed that a second season was in early development.

However, with Marvel Studios not yet confirming Hawkeye Season 2, fans are taking the word of insider Daniel Richtman who claims that the studio has a release timeframe in mind.

According to his report, filming will take place in Fall 2025 and will air some time between Fall 2026 and Fall 2027. Quite a large window but a window nonetheless.

If true, this will mark at least five years between the release of its first and second season so it is a long wait for fans eager to see more of Clint Barton’s story.

With Renner not featuring in any MCU project since Hawkeye and Kate Bishop only making an appearance in a pre-credits scene in 2023’s The Marvels, it is about time that the duo made a return.

However, with no confirmation from Marvel itself, it is worth taking this news with a pinch of salt.
