MCU fans hyped as Marvel officially teases long-expected 'reboot'

It's only the beginning

Are you excited about the next two Avengers films? I guess we all should be. It may very well be Marvel cooking again and delivering some chaotic superhero nonsense, in the best way.

With so many stars signing on to appear, or even reappear, and the debut of Doctor Doom, Doomsday should be an epic instalment in the Marvel line-up.

The next big Marvel film is Thunderbolts* out in cinemas in May

While the Russo brothers are out on the press tour for their mediocre at best Netflix film The Electric State, they’ve been discussing all things MCU, too.

In one interview, as reported by Maxblizz, the directors were noted to have discussed their upcoming return to Marvel saying, “We told an ending story [with Avengers: Endgame], now we’re going to tell a beginning story.”

This snippet made its way to Reddit, where fans began speculating on what they meant, wondering if we will indeed get the long-awaited ‘soft reboot’ of the MCU.

Redditor Likayos pushes into this theory explaining, “I know this will sound like a conspiracy theory, but by saying it’s a beginning I think it kind of implies that Secret Wars will end with some kind of reboot like it’s been speculated for a long time.”

It’s not that much of a conspiracy theory, truth be told.

In the Marvel comic books, Secret Wars is a merging of all multiverses, bringing together, merging, or killing off, heroes and villains.

It was an event that combined all the good bits from various Marvel stories and cleaned up the timelines, eradicating many of the company’s titles.

Their theory continues, “Not a full reboot of course, but maybe a soft one where they keep elements that are working but restarting elements that don’t, and maybe start a universe where the F4 were there from the start, along with mutants and an established X-Men team.”

It would make a lot of sense, then Marvel could keep the best bits of the past MCU hits, while establishing the returning properties - very much a beginning story.
