The MCU’s most powerful hero has just been confirmed by a Marvel writer, and yeah, it makes complete sense.
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon spanning so far and wide now, the debate of who is the most powerful character is causing many arguments across the internet.
You can put down your pitchforks for a moment, because we’ve had official confirmation from Marvel itself now on who the strongest character in the MCU is.
In Marvel Studios’ most recent film release, Thunderbolts*, several villains and antiheroes from past Marvel projects were brought back to join the titular ensemble team.

This includes the likes of Yelena Belova from Black Widow, John Walker from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The film also introduced a new character, though: Robert "Bob" Reynolds. He’s also referred to as the Sentry, and the Void, at certain moments in the film.
As featured by Gizmodo, Thunderbolts* screenwriter Eric Pearson spoke about Bob’s role in the film, particularly about his powers and strength when he becomes Sentry.
"The Sentry is this experiment gone wrong, or gone right accidentally,” Pearson explains. “He unknowingly has become the most powerful superhero."

Some of Sentry’s powers include super strength, invulnerability, super speed, and heightened senses. As the Void, he also has the ability to turn people to shadows and force them into an alternate world based on their past traumas.
Yeah, that sounds pretty brutal. In fact, the film doesn’t even confirm this is as powerful as Sentry goes.
It’s possible we might get to see the full extent of his powers in Avengers: Doomsday, where Bob actor Lewis Pullman is reprising his role.
Eric Pearson has been a screenwriter for Marvel Studios going all the way back to Phase 1, where he helped to develop the One-Shot shorts series.

His other screenwriting credits include Black Widow, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Thor: Ragnarok. He also did uncredited rewrites on both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
