Marvel fans have given us the first look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the MCU.
When Marvel revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the MCU at San Diego Comic Con in 2024, it took many fans by surprise.
The charismatic actor would not play Iron Man (for obvious reasons) but instead the legendary Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom.
To be honest, it’s going to take some getting used to seeing Robert Downey Jr. not play Tony Stark, but I have no doubts that he’ll absolutely pull it off, and then some.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrived in cinemas this month and features two post-credit scenes. I am about to reveal a huge spoiler for one of those scenes, so consider this to be your final warning.
In the first (and most vital) post-credit scene, we see Doctor Doom interact with Franklin Richards, the child of Reed and Sue, who will grow up to have God-like powers. In this scene, Franklin is four years old.
We only see a glimpse of Doctor Doom, but all that’s revealed is the side of this iconic green hood and cape. We do not see his mask or face. However, fans have taken matters into their own hands.
As spotted by Dexerto, an AI-generated video is making the rounds that sees Doctor Doom talking to Franklin. “Don’t be afraid. I’m a friend of your fathers. Then he removes his mask to reveal Robert Downey Jr.'s face, and he says, “I am Victor.”

Despite being well done, you can tell it’s not an official scene, especially when Robert Downey Jr. says “I am Victor” because it’s clearly ripped (and modified) straight from the MCU.
That being said, if the post-credit scene were to be something like this, it would have been awesome. I get that the MCU doesnt want us to see Robert Downey Jr.'s face as Victor Werner von Doom yet, but it would have been cool to at least hear him talk to Franklin with his mask on.
But as they say, patience is a virtue as we wait for the release of Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December 2026.
